04.02. - Sunshine over Stanage Popular (by Aidan)

With the weather final playing ball we ditched the planned wall session for the chance of some fresh air and headed out to Stanage. I met Hannes and Phil at Mississippi area.
With clear sky's and a slight breeze Mississippi Buttress Direct (a great sustained VS which is always good value for money - good gear, a bit balancy in places, good holds all the way), The Link and Mississippi Variant Direct were all climbed with the usual faff of the first trad routes of the year.

Now we were all feeling back in the swing of things we stepped it up a bit and Hannes dispatched a cool hanging bulge called Bloodshot. I teamed up with Rich (who had had a lazy start) to climb Desperation.
With the sun setting and the temperature dropping there was just enough time for 2 more route with Rich climbing Harding Super Direct and Phil doing Cave Arete. Feeling happy and content we called it a day and headed off to find a pub.
